Fun in the back yard

Here are some pictures from Sunday afternoon. Liam was climbing trees again and Tinky was playing with her favorite tennis ball. (Ok, so she only has one tennis ball, but it's definitely her favorite!) Emma was just taking it all in from the safety of her Fisher Price rocking chair. :)

This is the bird nest that Liam has been keeping a very close eye on for a couple weeks now. We saw the mommy bird and we even saw broken eggs a few days ago. But no sign of babies.

Diablos

Tonight we went to the El Paso Diablos game. They used to be a AAA farm team for the Diamond Backs, but a few years ago, the ceased having any affiliation with Major League Baseball. Which was kind of a bummer, but they have done pretty well all things considered and it's still a lot of fun to go to the games. It was Emma's first baseball game, and let's just say, she is not the type of baby who usually enjoys "new experiences." So we were wondering if we'd be heading home after the second inning. But to our surprise, she actually seemed to really enjoy herself! She loved hearing all the loud music that they piped into the stadium and she enthusiastically danced to each song - even one rap song, which was just so funny. Liam got a free baseball and had a hot dog for dinner, which pleased him very much. He was sad that we couldn't stay for the fireworks show, but he and mom got some shaved ice to take on the road home...delicious. :)

Busy girl

Emma is one busy girl! Gone are the days when I could plop her down on her blanket and she would play happily with three of four toys put in front of her. Now she wants to explore every inch of every place she can possibly reach. Here are some of her shenanigans from this afternoon. I'm not sure where her other leg went in this first picture. Hmmm?

"Come in, Liam. Do you read me? This is Emma. Over and out!"

Happy Friday!

It's the end of an uneventful week. TGIF from Liam (and his dino)....

A walk down memory lane

I've been meaning to take these pictures for months! This is one of Liam's old outfits. He wore it the night Brendan came home from Iraq, so it brings back a lot of memories. Just in time for the 4th of July, too. :)

(also Liam's old wagon...sniffle, sniffle!)

Waiter!

I had dinner catered tonight!

By none other than Chef Brendan, himself! Steak, and potatoes with a side of green beans. It was delicious! I am kicking myself for not buying him a grill 6 years ago. What was I thinking? ;)

Under the weather

Poor Liam had a tummy bug last night and this morning.

But this is what happened when he started perking up this afternoon. Creative use of the barf bucket, don't you think? Don't worry, it was clean!

I love strawberries!

Emma's first love was cheerios. Then she turned her attention to cheese. But today, it is all about strawberries. I lost count of how many she ate at dinner tonight. Mmmmmmmm Mmmmmmmm good!

Video #2

Emma just discovered Liam's Fridge Phonics toy and has taken it for her own. She just loves dancing to her ABC song.

I can crawl!

As requested (demanded?) by a certain fan who will remain nameless. ;) Heeeeeeeere's Emma! Click below to see the video.

Don't hate me because I'm beautiful

Summer chic in her new shades! Emma's eyes are really sensitive to the sun. Every time she goes outside lately, her eyes start tearing up. So I found these cute baby sunglasses that velcro all the way around her head. The idea is they won't come off, but as you can see, my little Houdini was not deterred.

Here she is waving to her adoring fans. No, really, it's just daddy behind the camera. Any time she even hears the word "daddy," she will start waving. When she knows I am talking on the phone with him, she will start waving. When he comes home from work, she will start waving. You get the idea. I think that must be their secret handshake or something! Daddy=waving.
See...Mommy taking the picture...no waving!
And of course I can't leave out Liam, who was clearly having a case of the sillies at t-ball tonight!

Look who's got another new trick

I don't think this requires any further explanation!

Is my hair growing, or is it just mommy's imagination?

Mommy has been trying to put this pretty hairbow on my head for months and today it finally stuck...barely. :) What do you think? Am I a fashion hit or miss?

Big girl

I finally made the trek across town to Babies R Us today to buy Emma her new car seat. She is busting out of the infant one since she is so tall (and has been for quite some time). So this is a little overdue. The store let me use two different coupons, so I feel like I got a pretty good deal. Don't you love it when that happens? The best part is, it goes up to 65 pounds, so she'll basically be in this seat until 2nd grade. :) I think she likes it!

108 degrees!

We ventured out to the water park today and it was 108 degrees. UGH. The air conditioning in my car barely took the edge off the heat the whole drive home. And Emma wasn't really digging the water. Her facial expression says it all!

Liam didn't mind the heat, though. He and his friends had a great time running through the giant mushroom waterfall.
