Happy Birthday, Brendan!

Brendan turned the big 2-9 today! Happy Birthday Brendan! I told him he has officially begun the last best year of his life, lol.

This summer we will mark 7 years of living in El Paso and we have yet to see one of our city's most notable landmarks - The Mission Trail. It consists of 3 Spanish Missions that date back to the 17th century, all right along the Mexican border. It was pretty neat! The buildings were so old and have so much history inside of them. Which of course is right up Brendan and Brownen's alley. Liam was impressed, too, which I thought was pretty cool for a 5 year old.

We then headed to Cattleman's Steakhouse for a birthday dinner. Cattleman's has the best steaks in the world, (in our humble opinions)! But ask anyone in El Paso, and they will surely agree. This place is the best. We also took a hay ride out to the movie set of Courage Under Fire before dinner. Yes, the wide open desert in far east El Paso looks just like Iraq. Eek!

It was so hot, though - the car thermometer got up to 112 degrees at one point! I suspect it was closer to about 104-105 for most of the day. It was rough. I still do not feel recovered from being out in the heat all day.
